This checklist is designed as a resource to auto auctions joining EDGE Pipeline or EDGE Lookout. It is also a useful checklist for auctions transitioning from Legacy Pipeline to EDGE Pipeline 2, in December 2017. If you step through each of these items to set up your auction, you will have a successful week 1 on the new platform.
Setting up your Auction Presence
This section is about making sure that you showcase your auction and inventory in the best possible way- taking full advantage of all features available to help you do so.
- Members - Create more logins for your fellow staff members (as necessary)
- Events - Create your weekly sale template(s)
- National Consignors - Set your National Consignor mappings so they get their logo shown in your events whenever they have vehicles in one of your sales.
- Lane Maintenance - Set up all your lanes so inventory is properly organized for the dealers to see on the website
- Light Mappings - Makes lights actually show on the VDP and in reports
- Tire Mappings - Makes the Vehicle Details Page show a nice car graphic with richer tire information
Setting up your Online Sale
This section is about ensuring your Simulcast sale is ready to go, as well as Buy Now / Make Offer.
- Contacts - Set up your staff contacts so the system can send critical email notifications to the proper staff at your auction (especially Dealer Registration and Buy Now)
- Virtual Lots - This is how you organize vehicles into lanes for Simulcasting
- Online Sale / EDGE Simulcast - Familiarize yourself with what looks like to set up a block on sale day, get reports and monitoring about your live sale, and the workflow you need to do every week after your sale is over
- Buy Now / Make Offer - Familiarize yourself with the way Buy Now works, and get excited about selling your No Sales (or whatever you want) online via Auction Edge.
- Learn the new mental model for managing Events and Lanes
Setting up your Buyers and Sellers
This section is easily the most time consuming and the most important. This is the difficult work of making sure your customers are set up correctly with "Handshakes" for buying online on week 1.
- AuctionACCESS auctions - Make sure all of your online buyers have an Auction Edge account created, and that they have AuctionACCESS tied to that Auction Edge log in. Also make sure all your seller reps have an Auction Edge account with a manual handshake applied.
- Non-AuctionACCESS auctions - Make sure all of your online buyers have an Auction Edge account created, and then apply a manual Handshake to each one (or double check that the dealer got it right when the signed up).
